The member's centre is open 10am -4pm, and can be accessed through the main entrance at the front of the building. Members of the society can feel free to socialize in the "Member's Lounge", and enjoy many of our member's benefits, including, but not limited to: weekly yoga; social lunches; monthly food hampers; and visiting our on-site Nurse Practitioner. To be a "member" you have to complete an intake with our Centre Support worker and be HIV or Hepatitis positive call 604-854-1101to book an intake appointment.
The drop-in centre is open Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 12PM to 7PM, Tuesday through Friday from 7AM to 7PM and on holidays from 12PM to 4PM. PARC can ONLY be accessed through the alley entrance. Clients can come in for a cup of coffee, a bag lunch (first come, first serve), harm reduction supplies, to see our on-site nurse practitioner, to receive Naloxone training/kits and to meet a staff member for peer counselling. OVERDOSE PREVENTION in effect. Our nurse practitioner can help with methadone, suboxone and kadian.
Our harm reduction services are varied. Field staff provide mobile harm reduction prevention activities within our Community providing clean drug use supplies, condoms and information regarding safer use, prevention of overdose death and infections, as well as connecting them to PLFV and all other in-house services. Our field staff are on the road Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and can do mobile Naloxone training if requested. Harm reduction supplies can also be picked up for free from our drop-in centre, and when we're not open, they can be picked up from the Medicine Shoppe at 2388 McCallum Rd, Abbotsford BC (604-776-1000) or from the Pharmasave at 235 Wallace St, Hope, BC (604-869-2486). Our trained and knowledgeable staff will provide education on HIV/Viral Hepatitis and Naloxone use in a variety of locations from your place of business or school to a wide variety of community events by invitation. There is no cost to this service. Look for our table at many community events in your area. Naloxone training can be done "on demand" for anyone that accesses our services.
We have several on-site nurse practitioners: Monica, Judy and Amanda. Their availability varies, but are usually available between 1PM - 4PM on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, and 9:30AM - 4:30PM on Wednesday. They are available to help both drop-in clients and members. Please make an appointment before hand. Call ahead to 604-854-1101 to inquire about her availability. We have a medical outreach referral and engagement (MORE) worker that assists patients with help getting to appointments call Jodi at 604-226-3090 for assistance.
